With an outstanding commitment to community service, Steve Ams continuously and generously provides funding and support toward job creation and medical action for areas most in need. Just recently, for example, Steve Ams led an altruistic effort in Houston, Texas, to send medical supplies and relief to victims of the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti. He led a similar outreach program for those affected by Hurricane Katrina as well. Beginning his education at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria, Steve Ams continued his schooling, obtaining his doctorate at the University of Calabar's College of Medical Sciences, also in Nigeria. Upon his arrival to the United States, Steve Ams attended the Houston Graduate School of Theology, achieving an advanced degree. Using his combined theological and medical background, Steve Ams works diligently to make the world a better place. For the City of Houston, Steve Ams served as an elected Chairman of the Mayor’s International Affairs & Development Council for Africa, a committee which seeks the best practices appropriate for the creation of global business relations. Likewise, he joined the Mayor's Ministerial Advisory Board. Working for his neighbors in Houston, Steve Ams directed efforts to create jobs, organizing an event which led to the employment of nearly 1,300 people in one day. Deeply devoted to public service, Steve Ams bestows his resources toward international efforts as well as focused, coordinated local projects. Through his media outreach, writing, medical-based missions, and resource investments, Steve Ams strives to enhance the quality of life for others.
